When dog owners attempt pet grooming at home, there are several common mistakes that are made. Pet grooming is a skill, but with the right equipment and patience it can become a household chore you will enjoy doing and in the process save yourself both time and money.

The first most important thing with Pet grooming is to start grooming your pet as soon as he or she arrives in your home.

If your pet is a kitten or a puppy, practise laying the pet upside down on your lap. This position makes it so much easier to do most grooming chores. having a pet that likes this position and does not struggle will save you thousands of grooming hours over a pet's life time.

Trimming nails is a chore that most pets and pet owners hate. I use a electric grinder for this chore, but a word of warning these tools are only to be used by experienced groomers. Much damage to long coated breeds can occur if used incorrectly.

My pet parrot, has his long beak trimmed with a grinder , while I hold him wrapped in a towel on my lap.

I brush my dogs teeth on a weekly basis with a battery operated toothbrush.
